Computer-Aided Detection Systems, Image, Breast, Mammography
Definition : Computer aided detection systems designed to detect and classify areas in mammograms with abnormalities that may be indicative of breast cancer, such as micro calcifications, spiculated lesions, and other abnormal masses. They may either digitize film mammograms or use digital images from fully digital mammographic systems. These systems typically consist of a film digitizer or a means to import digital information, a computer capable of using appropriate algorithms, and a display/and or printer that provides an image that shows the detected abnormalities in the mammogram.
